We are here to support anyone new to the Rangitikei/Whanganui
Are you new to the Rangitikei/Whanganui region?
… with no network of relatives and friends to support you? Do you want to meet new friends? Do you need some help settling in? Are you interested in fun activities? If so, why not join us. As a new migrant, or a newcomer from another part of New Zealand, you are welcome to join the Multicultural Whanganui group. We would like you to feel at home in our region and to settle well into your new environment and the community.
Multicultural Whanganui can offer you friendship and support through various social activities and events – attending citizenship ceremonies, cultural events and potluck dinners. You may also get help and support with settlement issues. All are welcome, regardless of age, nationality and language.
The Whanganui District Council’s website has A Whanganui Welcome page with Quick Links to education, health care, tourist activities, business information, joining a community group, improving your English, employment and legal rights, Immigration New Zealand, information in your language, and public transport.
Who are we?
We are a non-profit organisation run by volunteers, under the umbrella of the Multicultural Council of Rangitikei/Whanganui Inc. Most of us have at some point been new to the region so we understand the difficulties faced when moving here.
We are here to support anyone new to the Rangitikei/Whanganui region. You do not have to be from overseas, if you have moved here from other parts of New Zealand, if you are an immigrant from an English-speaking or non-English-speaking country, we welcome you.
